Thanks 1,000,000 for all your prayers and intercession on our behalf as we went off on this little mission trip to Nicaragua. We have never felt so “carried” on a trip before; it was a very wonderful sensation especially since it was such a very intense school for three days.
Our team was the bomb! We were so connected and on the same page and there was a wonderful flow between the four of us. Laura worked really hard because she did a lot of translation in addition to doing her own talks. Keith was exceptional in the way that he looked out for us all and made sure we had whatever we needed. On top of that, he shared his testimony of finding the Father Heart of God after being a spiritual orphan in such a touching way that the only response was to invite the students up to receive the Father’s blessing. That was a powerful time of ministry and broke through many hearts of stone. Of course, Elsie continues to be a star as everyone is magnetized by the love that exudes from every fiber of her being… I may be a bit biased – but it’s true. ☺
On the last evening we had testimony time and I was really impressed at the vulnerability of the pastors and leaders as they shared how God has impacted their lives over the school. It was very moving to hear how the love of God had found so many of them in their places of pain. Others confessed that they had to repent and as ask forgiveness because of long hidden pain. Yet others testified to being set free from demonic strongholds. It was WONDERFUL!
As these 70 pastors and leaders, who represent almost every major region of Nicaragua, press on with what the Lord has given them we are confident that the entire nation will be affected for the Kingdom of God. They are all delightful men and women of God who have a hunger for him and for the values of His Kingdom and I know that they will impact their communities for the glory of God. We have heard testimonies already of how things are different in their families!
We saw many students healed of pain and fever. However, since healing is part and parcel of the churches here in Central America we provided them with a different model for healing... a model where EVERY believer and not just “The Man of God” is able to heal the sick. It was wonderful to see fellow students healing each other with Jesus, and without loud boisterous fanfare.
After the school, we returned to Managua where we visited the orphanage and along with a team from Virginia we had a party for the children at a hotel that has a nice big swimming pool. They had fun with the piñata as well!
The Virginians were constructing an orphanage building using earth block technology, something with which I had not been familiar. (Do a Google search – it is a fascinating technology that is green, affordable and sustainable for the developing world.)
We wanted to express special thanks to all those who made financial contributions so as to make this school possible. We only have an inkling of the impact your donations have made to the transformation of these pastors and in turn their communities. We are already hearing testimonies of transformed families! So thanks a million for your contributions.
Once again, thanks for your prayers and know that you all have a share in the spoils such as they are.
Blessings,
Ramesh & Elsie
PS: We will post some photos (and maybe video clips) when we have them from our buddy Keith - or Kees as he is known to the Nicaraguans! I didn't want to wait anylonger before getting this report out to you though.
