Nicaragua – September 2007

We are looking forward to our mission trip to Nicaragua this September. We’ve been there twice so far and each time we were overwhelmed by the hunger of the people for the things of God. They also happened to be incredibly joyful people with big wide smiles and warm personalities. Although these trips are intense times with many demands on us, we thoroughly appreciate the opportunities to teach and equip the church leaders there. We love praying for those who are sick there because they are so much more desperate and full of faith than we are in the West. And God meets them with his healing touch. It is always a delight as well to be with the children at the orphanages.
Arturo Sanchez, our contact there, has planted over six churches in various cities on the nation - generally among the poorest of the poor. He is also building orphanages in three cities and he has an elementary school which is making a huge difference in the town of Bluefields on the Caribbean coast of Nicaragua. There the public schools are so overwhelmingly flooded with children that many don’t have a place. These ones end up simply being on the streets to pass the days and fend for themselves while their parents try to eke out a living. So while it doesn’t completely meet the need, Arturo’s school is indeed a huge blessing to that town. And once the orphanage there is up and running as well that'll also be a fantastic blessing.
We will be doing a bit of traveling to various towns and cities such as Leon, Matagalpa, Bluefields and Granada, to name a few. We will be conducting one and / or two day seminars with the churches and their leaders. We will be teaching on themes such as the Father Heart of God, our Orphan Spirit, the Importance of Forgiveness, Getting Rid of Judgments and Ungodly Beliefs, Intimacy with God and Hearing His Voice, and the Call to Divine Romance.
Do pray for us...we value your intercession on our behalf and on behalf of the many people that will be impacted for eternity because the Lord will have used us there.
Blessings.
Elsie and Ramesh
