Halifax - November 2007

Our trip to Halifax had two parts. The first part was to do a soaking seminar for Catch the Fire Ministries along with the Canadian Coordinator of soaking centres, Ms June Bain. We had a most satisfying soaking seminar. This was the third weekend in Halifax this year and there were about 55-60 people from all the provinces in the Maritimes in attendance. Most of them were hungry people - hungry for an encounter with the presence of the Living, Loving God! We gave talks on topics like the Nurturing Heart of God, Ungodly Beliefs and the Father Heart of God interspersed with lots of soaking times. We also did some Prophetic Activations with them.

One family went home from this weekend and the glory of God fell on their church meeting that Sunday night. Every one who came to the meeting was impacted by the presence of God and overwhelmed by the Holy Spirit. One 5 year old boy (whom I interviewed later that week) saw two angels coming into the room. He was able to describe in detail what they were wearing and what they said to him. He was consistent and quite precise on what the experience he had was like. Needless, to say that family is off the charts on fire for God and wanting more!

The second part of our time in the Maritimes was spent doing itinerant ministry visiting and encouraging churches. The first Sunday we were in two "studenty" churches where the leadership of both are committed to raising up the next generation to do the works of the kingdom. Both churches had a cross -section of believers from different streams of Christianity with differing experiences and understandings of the work of the Spirit. We attempted to be cognizant of that fact and ministered appropriately. In the first church Elsie prophesied over a number of the congregants after a bit of teaching on the prophetic. In the second meeting Ramesh preached from the scriptures on contending for the promises of God. Our ministry in both places was well received.

On the following Thursday we attended a Soaking Centre meeting at the home of the Passeys and had a wonderful time. Again, Elsie was moved to prophesy and in fact she prophesied over everyone there. It was wonderful to behold all these hungry people being fed by the Lord through his willing vessel.

The next day, Friday, we drove out to Mahone Bay about an hour away from Halifax to minister at the main service of the Partners In Harvest church there. We had a blast! What an on fire group of people! Extended, exuberant worship from hearts that are filled with a passion for the presence of God and a deep desire for more of Him. It was easy to minister. Elsie encouraged the church and Ramesh shared from the scriptures and then there was a wonderful time of ministry at the end. It was a great service.

On the Sunday, we went out to a Baptist church in Dartmouth. For a number of reasons the church was dwindling in numbers and the pastor was deeply discouraged. We were able to challenge and encourage the church to press into the Lord and to receive his love. One of the young daughters of the family that we were staying with felt impressed by the Lord to sing a song over the congregation. We allowed her to and she sang (for the first time ever in public) in a most anointed way a song called, Testify to Love. Everyone was moved. Spending time with that precious man of God and encouraging him was a special moment for us. It was a most rewarding time of ministry being able to hold up the hands of a man was us desperate for more of the Lord. One of the prophets in Ontario had prophesied a few months ago that the Lord was going to use us in bring the blessings of the renewal to organised and structured denominations... it's already happening!

Not only that but one of the ladies in the church asked permission of the Lord to go to the throne room. He gave her permission and in a hair's breath she was in the throne room, except t

hat instead of a throny looking throne she saw a rocking chair there and the Father seated on it rocking away. He said that he'd like to pick her up but she said that she was too heavy. The Lord laughed and blew in his hand and a feather began to float away in the wind of his breath. He said that this was how light she was to him. She ended up on his lap being rocked with her head on his chest! What an encounter!

We also prayed for a man who a few years previously had suffered a bad accident where he fell off a building and broke his hip among other bones. He was walking with a cane and a pronounced limp. During the meeting, Ramesh felt impressed to pray for his healing. He wasn't compeletely healed but he said that a "clicking" in his hip had disappeared and the pain had lifted. Afterwards, we felt that he would receive his complete healing once he came to grips with forgiveness for himself and for the doctors who had worked on him. There was a lot of heat around but that healing anointing wasn't penetrating fully.

In addition to the meetings, we had lots of opportunity of minister to individuals on an informal basis. A lot of people have very challenging circumstances in which they live and we are thankful that the Lord has revealed himself to be our Good Father, our Counsellor and our Friend. We can truly lean on him for all that we need, and he is completely trustworthy and faithful. Bless his holy name!

We look forward to when He sends us back to Nova Scotia to continue to stoke the fires of the revival that is about to come to that part of the nation!
