Deborah's Miracle
Raised from her deathbed!
We had a great service the first Sunday (September 2) that we were in Leon, Nicaragua but the real fun started after the service! We were asked to go to the hospital to pray with Pastor Alberto’s wife, Pastor Elba. She was in the hospital for surgery which was scheduled earlier but which has to be delayed due to an infecti

on in the operating theatre. We went to renew acquaintances with Pastor Elba and pray with her. We prayed that God would heal her supernaturally.
As we were spending time with her a young lady from their church came in quite distraught because she had a sister, in that same hospital, who had been suffering with a tumour in her cerebellum that had been there for seven years! She was now at the point of death and the Catholic priest had even come to administer divine unction. Seeing how troubled the sister was, compassion welled up in us and we just had to go and pray.
We went up to the floor where her sister, Deborah, was and discovered that a large number of her family members (most of whom were believers in Jesus) were there as well. There was a pall of sadness and depression over the ward which had about 10 women suffering from a variety of ailments. We gathered about Deborah’s bed and began to talk with her. We found out from the family that she had been involved in witchcraft and was very resistant to the gospel.
Arturo, who also served as our translator, began to share the gospel with Deborah but she just wouldn’t go along with his cajoling to accept Jesus. This went on for quite a while – probably half and hour or so. Elsie and I then spoke to her about the love of our Father God and that we were commanded to pray for the sick and leave the results to Him. Then we prayed our tried and trusted “Kingdom of God come” prayer and then got ready to leave. As we were doing so it just seemed that we all ended up moving to the other beds and began praying with the other patients there. It turned into a wonderful time of experiencing the sweet presence of Jesus as Arturo, Albert

o, Elsie and I began to share the good news with these ladies. They had all overheard as Arturo was sharing with Deborah and some of them actually agreed to accept Jesus into their hearts!
We eventually left but received the most wonderful news the next evening at the renewal meeting. The sister and mother of Deborah, the lady we had prayed for the day before came to us and shared the exciting news that Deborah was sitting up in bed and in her right mind!
They had gone to see her the next morning expecting the worse but instead discovered that she was actually sitting up in bed and as lucid as she had been before the brain tumour seven years ago. She told them a most amazing story - she told them that she had had a visitation from Jesus during the night!
She said that Jesus came to her and said, “Deborah, why are you so rebellious? OK, I’ll make a deal with you. If you give me your life I will heal you and give you many more days on this earth.” She agreed to the deal… She also said that Jesus was very handsome…

Deborah was convinced that she was healed and the doctors were dumfounded and had no explanation for what has caused this change in Deborah. They were going to keep her in the hospital to conduct some further tests!
Awesome Jesus!!
For the entire time that we were in Leon and even when we had our last meeting in Managua various family members came to tell us at the renewal meetings about this amazing miracle and to express thanks to God for Deborah’s healing. They were all so touched by the power of prayer and the grace and mercy of our Heavenly Daddy. It was wonderful to experience.
Pastor Elba went in for her surgery later that week and she is also completely fine and recovering at home as we write this.
Thank you Father for this wonderful, tangible display of your loving kindness.
